Gerry Hughes is the first profoundly deaf man to sail single-handed around the world and across the Atlantic Ocean. In 2019 he published a book about his life called ‘Bridging Our Differences’.
Gerry is known internationally as a Deaf role model, not only for his sailing achievements but for his work in education and sign language.
