Gerry was reunited with a former school friend at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow on 7 March 2024. Christine Fry is deafblind and was a pupil at St Vincent’s School in Glasgow. Christine read Gerry’s book ‘Bridging our Differences’ before the meeting. With support from Manjeet Cross (guide communicator), Christine quizzed Gerry about the stories in his book ‘Bridging our Differences’. Reflecting on the meeting, Gerry said:
“It’s great to know that my book is accessible to deafblind people. I am delighted to know that Christine enjoyed it, especially, as one of her favourite parts was a story about my dad.”
