Gerry Hughes made life-time honorary member of Cathkin Braes Golf Club

Gerry was made a lifetime honorary member of Cathkin Braes Golf club in December 2021.  A family friend introduced Gerry  to Cathkin Braes Golf Club when he was about 10 or 11.  Gerry took up golf after returning to Glasgow from  boarding school in England. Gerry has represented Scotland internationally six times at the World Deaf Golf Championships.

During his solo circumnavigation, Gerry  often thought of playing golf at Cathkin Braes.  Dreaming  of being back on the golf course at Cathkin Braes helped him keep going.

Gerry is looking forward to working with Cathkin Braes Golf Club to develop opportunities for deaf children to learn to play golf.
